Your resolutions are not enough

your resolutions are not enough

Happy new year guys, 2019 is upon us. Time flies am I right? when I think about how much my life changed in one year, I am amazed, it literally flipped 180 degrees possibly 360. I remember years past. I used to get in my head and second guess everything I do, I would feel overwhelmed, I would compare myself to others. The more I felt this way the more my hope would diminish. I had so much to learn and so much to grow on. It's not like I didn't have good ideas or aspirations, I did, we all do sometimes unless it's something silly like; inventing a mobile toilet that says "yessurr" everytime you flush, or the machine that's a microwave, oven, a washer, and dryer at the same time. I digress but think about it, we all have goals and aspirations and we are all pumped up initially but life inevitably happens and then fear creeps in. Will we be able to do this? Will we be able to achieve the results that we want?

What makes Christmas Special

Saturday, 22 December 2018

what makes christmas special

What's up guys, seasons greetings, I'm super excited not just because of Chrismas but because it's also my favorite time of the year (high fives for everyone). What about y'all? I am sure most of you are looking forward to this time as well. It's the season for giving and getting, being merry, so many beautiful lights, and most importantly spending time with loved ones. For me, Christmas brings with it so much memory and ambiance; a different kind of feeling, unique and true.

My chunky sneakers

Saturday, 15 December 2018

my chunky sneakers
Been checking out the chunky sneakers trend for a while now. I knew I wanted to style these sneakers in an edgy, chic way but I was on the fence about this trend. Every single chunky sneaker I saw were too chunky for me and for a girl who wears size 10 shoes, it won’t be cute to wear shoes that will make my feet look extra-long. Then one fateful day, I was watching one of Patricia Bright's, haul videos, where she tried on these Adidas falcons (She is a YouTuber and I follow her, she's cool). I thought to myself, okay, I see you, looking good over there with your chunky self, but before we get all excited and all, I will try you on first and we will see if this is meant to be or not. I was pumped but a little apprehensive because I still wasn't sure if it would look cute on me.

Should you get married?

Friday, 7 December 2018

should you get married?
So should you get married? Some of you might say YES, others might say NO, but I believe the answer is much more complicated than we think or maybe I should say less straightforward.

I am not sure anyone can truly answer that question, even those that are in successful marriages. I mean, there are just so many variables, so many moving parts (don’t get me started on dealing with human beings and how complicated our feelings and emotions can be). Look, I don’t know if the idea of marriage is overrated and outdated. I don’t know how realistic it is in this current society. I don't know if it is possible to maintain and successfully manage a relationship for the long term. However, if I may, please allow me to share with you, our journey to “I DO”. Maybe this might help you to somewhat draw a reasonable conclusion; somewhere in between YES and NO.

Your Spirit Animal

Thursday, 29 November 2018

When it comes to fashion, I express myself through my outfits. It’s a combination of my personality and my mood for the day. Each part of a look represents an expression of my style and my personal emotion. For example, I woke up a few Sundays ago and knew this is the day I had to look good, I don’t know why, but I felt like I had to spend extra time with my skincare routine and my makeup. I also knew I would be wearing my favorite boots that day.
While i was getting ready my lovely :) husband looked at me and said I looked beautiful. I smiled at him and said challenge accepted.  I have always had a thing about mixing men’s wear into my style. I went into his closet which I don’t normally do. I styled an outfit with his clothes and my favorite boots (i will be sharing this in a future post).

10 tips to plan a successful wedding

Monday, 19 November 2018

Hey guys, some of you may not know but I recently got married.   It was an emotional day for me, and I could not stop crying. I wasn’t the type of bride who knew what she wanted for her big day before she was engaged or even imagining how or what it would be like. I didn’t talk about it with my siblings or friends/girlfriends. I always knew I would get married but when, where and to whom, I never imagined.

Ankara + Denim

Friday, 18 August 2017

Hey, guys! How are you all doing? Today I am styling this Ankara top that I received as a gift from my boyfriend's mum. She is so sweet. For those of you who don't know what Ankara is, Ankara is an African fabric with different prints.

Off the shoulder top + Mom Jeans

Saturday, 5 August 2017

I love dressing up my mom jeans in different way
I am a sucker for mom jeans. They are very comfortable and I like the non-stretch denim material of the jeans. Here I dressed up this vintage Gap mom jeans with an off the shoulder Zara top and a pair of loafers. A pair of heels will go well with this outfit, but I chose a pair of loafers instead for comfort.

A Believer's Heart

Monday, 31 July 2017

Hello,  everyone! I haven't posted on this page for a while now. For those of you who don't know what this page is about, check out my previous post here, detailing the purpose of this page. This morning, I started my day with a new devotional called God Hunger by Dominic Muir. You can find it on your bible app. Day one of the devotional touched on the topic of changing from the inside-out.

Summer Florals

Friday, 28 July 2017

My go to summer dress
Summer definitely screams for floral. If you don't have anything floral in your closet, you need to go get one. It doesn't have to be as bright as this dress. It can be a subtle floral printed top, blouse or shirt. It could also be a pair of jeans with floral embroidery.

Instagram Roundup

Friday, 14 July 2017

I wore this dress floral for my first blogger and photographer collaboration. I had so much fun even though it was very hot. I will be doing a blog post more photos and sharing my experience.

Playlist Week: 7/5/2017

Wednesday, 5 July 2017

Its finally summer here in Texas, or should I say its been summer since May. In the spirit of summer, I have put together a Naija summer party playlist for all the pool parties, barbecue and other parties to come. For all my naija people out there who love to shake their bum bum like me, shoki, and have a good time. I have included hot new songs that will get you hyped. I listen to these songs when I am on the go, at the gym, and cleaning at home.

Review | Fresh Umbrian Clay

Thursday, 29 June 2017

My skin has been a struggle for me since the beginning of this year. I have been breaking out like crazy, unlike before. After much saving and my willingness to splurge on good skin care products. One Saturday evening I made a stop at Sephora in search of a new product that would treat my skin concerns. I was set on that day to spend money on a good product that would at least do what it says it will do. I wanted products that would target my break outs, that will reduce the shine on my face and to treat the acne scars.

My Freedom Of Style

Monday, 26 June 2017

I know I have been MIA and we are already half way into the year. I thought for my first post of the year I should do a formal introduction of myself and how I came about this blog. Some of you guys that come here often might have wondered what is freedom of style? How did she come up with the name? I don't get it, what is this blog about? I am here to answer all those questions and more.

Skin Care Tips for Winter

Tuesday, 6 December 2016

No matter how much I love fall season, there is just one thing I am currently battling with and that is dry skin. I have noticed that my skin gets dry during winter and I have tried so many things to keep it moisturized, from applying coconut oil which resulted in me breaking out, to applying more moisturizer which made me exhaust my moisturizer real quick.

Bru coffee shop

Monday, 28 November 2016

As I continue to adjust and make the most of my stay here in Waco, I came across this new unique coffee shop Bru coffee. It's located in downtown in a newly renovated old building Paetorian market centre. On this beautiful day, it was perfect for coffee and to enjoy the scenery at Bru coffee...

Strong in my weakness

Wednesday, 16 November 2016

Do you ever have this feeling of fear that creeps up on you at unexpected moments, all of a sudden you are unsure of yourself and uncertain of your future. You even wonder and ask yourself: will I be able to achieve this goal or vision? Can I do this? Am I good enough? I don't have the qualifications needed to push forward. Believe me I have felt this way so many times but my hope comes from my belief in God and my endeavor to live my life according to his doctrine.

Off to Magnolia

Friday, 4 November 2016

So I have been living in Waco, Texas for a couple of months now since I moved here from Dallas. I had heard about Magnolia from my sister who says I would love the place because according to her I like rustic and industrial looking things and this place has that vibe as well. I thought mehhhh... there is nothing out here in Waco in particular to explore since its a small town.

Trust and Rely

Tuesday, 25 October 2016

Hey guys! I hope you are all having a great day so far. Like I had mentioned in the previous post I will be sharing what I learnt about God in my quite time with him every morning. So for today as I was reading Proverbs 3 vs 5-6 I began to meditate on the words to deeply understand what God was trying to say to me, it says
