Been checking out the chunky sneakers trend for a while now. I knew I wanted to style these sneakers in an edgy, chic way but I was on the fence about this trend. Every single chunky sneaker I saw were too chunky for me and for a girl who wears size 10 shoes, it won’t be cute to wear shoes that will make my feet look extra-long. Then one fateful day, I was watching one of Patricia Bright's, haul videos, where she tried on these Adidas falcons (She is a YouTuber and I follow her, she's cool). I thought to myself, okay, I see you, looking good over there with your chunky self, but before we get all excited and all, I will try you on first and we will see if this is meant to be or not. I was pumped but a little apprehensive because I still wasn't sure if it would look cute on me. 

Your Spirit Animal

  When it comes to fashion, I express myself through my outfits. It’s a combination of my personality and my mood for the day. Each part of a look represents an expression of my style and my personal emotion. For example, I woke up a few Sundays ago and knew this is the day I had to look good, I don’t know why, but I felt like I had to spend extra time with my skincare routine and my makeup. I also knew I would be wearing my favorite boots that day.

While i was getting ready my lovely :) husband looked at me and said I looked beautiful. I smiled at him and said challenge accepted.  I have always had a thing about mixing men’s wear into my style. I went into his closet which I don’t normally do. I styled an outfit with his clothes and my favorite boots (i will be sharing this in a future post). 

Ankara + Denim

Hey, guys! How are you all doing? Today I am styling this Ankara top that I received as a gift from my boyfriend's mum. She is so sweet. For those of you who don't know what Ankara is, Ankara is an African fabric with different prints.

Off the shoulder top + Mom Jeans

 I am a sucker for mom jeans. They are very comfortable and I like the non-stretch denim material of the jeans. Here I dressed up this vintage Gap mom jeans with an off the shoulder Zara top and a pair of loafers. A pair of heels will go well with this outfit, but I chose a pair of loafers instead for comfort.

Summer Florals

Summer definitely screams for floral. If you don't have anything floral in your closet, you need to go get one. It doesn't have to be as bright as this dress. It can be a subtle floral printed top, blouse or shirt. It could also be a pair of jeans with floral embroidery.

White Blouse

Its amazing how the weather here in Texas can go from, rainy to cloudy to sunny :) it was my sister's graduation today and I had originally planned to wear pants but the sun peaked out. I was so thrilled, so I took advantage of the sunny December  weather to pull this leather skirt and patent boots look.

Oversized Cardigan

Hmmmm... oversized cardigan where do I begin, I know I do like this cardigan very much and I wear it with almost every thing in my closet. I tell myself not today again, I can't wear this cardigan with this turtle neck top and culotte shorts, I had decided to store it away and give it a mini break, but no, I saw the cardigan looking at me. I wear it when I am wearing jeans and a sweater, I pair it with a dress, I wear it with shorts and even before going to bed I have this cardigan on. 

Denim in Fall

Paired my favorite vintage Lee jeans with an all black look for fall. For my jacket I added a few brooch I thrifted to give it a different look. 

Hightops and Backpack

I got this medium sized backpack from Zara which I am currently loving. I find backpack convenient for me especially when I am riding the train or just having a long day of adventure, its comfortable and everything fits in and the weight of the bag is evenly spread out on my shoulder.

Straw Hat and Distressed Shorts

Fun times in downtown Dallas, I went to the circus for the first time, sorry I don't have pictures of my experience but it was awesome. Afterwards I went to Cafe Strada , its an inexpensive european style cafe owned by an italian so you can definitely trust the gelato is good. I had alfagato with a shot of espresso which was phenomenal.

As half of the year has gone by, I decided to reflect back on my new years resolution to see if i truly stuck to it and followed it through. In my first post earlier this year I had mentioned that this year is going to be all about confidence in God and in myself as well.

Black Christmas

 Christmas this year was all about the clear blue skies, lots to eat, unexpected gifts and not so christmasy outfit. I guess my mood towards christmas this year reflected on my outfit. I wasn't as excited as I normally get around Christmas, this year i was very nonchalant about christmas and i didn't even get  myself a present either.
